A Year of Exploring Patanjali's Yamas & Niyamas

January 11 - December 13, 2023 | 6:30pm-8:30pm EST - 1 Wednesday evening/month

This course can be taken as a stand-alone workshop for anyone interested in Yoga Philosophy and is also a 300-hour Yoga Teacher Training module (counts as 2 modules).

The Yoga philosophy explained through Patañjali’s Yoga Sūtras is immensely profound and powerful and has changed the lives of many humans. This short compendium of 196 aphorisms (sūtras) is a guide to understanding our mind and how to work with our mind (instead of against it). A popular aspect of the practices taught is known as ashtanga yoga, the eight (8) limbs. The Yamas & Niyamas are the first two (2) limbs, and these are dedicated to living ethically in relationship with ourselves and the world around us.

Over the course of the year, we will explore the Yamas & Niyamas in the context of our individual, personal, relational, and professional lives. Woven into this conversation will be other aspects of Patañjali’s teachings, including the Kleśas (mental-emotional afflictions), keys to practice, and the Anterayas (obstacles of practice).

This program is offered in a one-webinar-per-month (plus one!) format. The 13 webinars are on Wednesdays from 6:30pm ET to 8:30pm ET (2 hours):
